GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- HARD COPY of the ON-LINE application form is not required. Original Documents along with 2 photocopy sets will be required at the time of admission.
- Schedule of interview, merit list and IUB departmental test will be announced on www.iub.edu.pk.
- Candidates are required to pay prescribed admission processing fee for MPhil and PhD, Programs. Moreover, the candidates desiring to appear in IUB departmental test are required to pay prescribed fee/dues for MPhil/PhD. The fee can be deposited in any branch of authorized Banks on challan form downloadable from online admission portal.
- Original receipt of admission processing fee for MPhil and PhD programs will be provided by the applicant at the time of issuance of fee challan. The IUB test fee challan will be furnished at the time of written test without which candidates(s) will not be allowed to appear in the written test.
- Incomplete application forms will not be entertained.
The candidates may visit www.iub.edu.pk or eportal.iub.edu.pk for online applications. The candidates who have already passed GAT (General)/(Subject) and having valid result card(s) issued by NTS, need not register for IUB test.
NOTES:
UNIVERSITY RESERVES THE RIGHT NOT TO START ANY PROGRAM WITHOUT ASSIGNING ANY REASON. *THE THESIS OPTION WILL BE AVAILABLE TO SELECTED STUDENTS ONLY. OTHER STUDENTS WILL HAVE NON-THESIS OPTION TO COMPLETE MPhil/MS.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in MS Nursing
Category-I
- 10-year of schooling (Matric/FA/FSc 1st Division)
- 03-year Diploma in Nursing
- 01-year Diploma in Midwifery or any Post Basic Specialty Diploma recognized and registered with the Pakistan
Nursing and Midwifery Council. - 01-year experience as RN for admission in Post RN BSN/BSM degree.
- 02-year Post RN BSN/BSM (CGPA ≥ 2.5), Degree program as specified by PNC and HEC vide Notification No. 8(61)/A&A/2018/HEC/5799, dated 26.04.2018 and registered with PNC.
- 02-year experience as RN after Post RN BSN (clinical includes inpatient and outpatient in primary and tertiary care, as well as teaching and research) for admission in MSN degree
- Minimum ‘1’ Research Publication in a relevant field in HEC recognized Journal.
- IUB GRE/HAT Nursing with 50% marks before admission.
- Valid PNC License
Category-II
- 12-years schooling (Matric + FSc Pre Medical 1st Division)
- 04-year BSN Generic with 2.5 out of 4.0 CGPA recognized and registered with Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- 01-year Internship (Bedside care)
- 02-year experience as RN after BSN Generic (Clinical includes inpatient and outpatient in primary and tertiary care)
(excluding 01-Year Internship) for admission in MSN. - Minimum ‘1’ Research Publication in a relevant field and in HEC recognized Journal.
- IUB GAT Nursing with 50% marks before admission.
- Valid PNC License
Eligibility Criteria
MPhil/MS/MSc(Hons)/MBA:
Master Degree (sixteen years of education or equivalent) with at least 2nd division in the relevant subject under annual
system or with 2.00 out of 4.00 CGPA under the Semester System recognized by the Higher Education Commission of
Pakistan. Valid GRE/HAT (General)/IUB Admission Test result conducted by recognized agency with at least 50% marks
before admission.
Doctor of Philosophy:
i. MPhil/MS or equivalent/Eighteen years of education with a minimum CGPA 3.0/4.00 or 60% in case of annual system
recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. IUB HAT General developed by IUB, with the passing score of
60% OR GRE/HAT General, conducted by testing bodies accredited by HEC, with a passing score of 60%.
ii. If any student has a strong demonstrated interest in obtaining PhD degree, but their CGPA is between (2.70 to 2.99 out
of 4) or (50 to 59%) marks (in the annual system) in the most recent/terminal degree, may be admitted to a PhD program
after fulfilling the following requirements:
a.Shall study additional courses of 9-12 CH of MPhil/MS/MSc (Hons)/LLM/MBA level taking a zero semester and required to
score a minimum 3.00 out of 4.00 GPA, which have no weightage for calculation of CGPA in regular semesters.
b.The admission committee is satisfied that the applicant’s knowledge of a primary area (level 7) has sufficiently prepared
him or her to undertake the course of studies of the doctoral program.
PhD Admissions:
PhD Admissions at IUB remain open throughout the year. The candidates securing admission to any PhD program at IUB
are directed to visit the departments to obtain the consent letter from the supervisors. The relevant supervisor will issue
the consent letter if he/she has the space to recruit a new scholar.
