METI AI and Tech Talent Internship in Japan are offered to students who are passionate about Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence. The purpose of the METI internship 2025-26 is to increase the diversity of IT talent in Japanese companies. During the Japanese internship period, interns will get a chance to learn different professional and technical skills. Before applying, students can attend an online information session, which will provide an overview of the program. The online seminar will explain the benefits of working in Japanese companies and answer questions related to the internship program.
The internship in Japan for AI and Tech will be for 1.5 months and will recruit 1-5 individuals per company. Interns will get real-world experience by performing the activities practically. The host organisation will arrange all the necessary equipment required by the interns. It will also cover traveling and accommodation expenses so that students can focus on their work without worrying about finances. After completing the tech internship program successfully, interns will receive a completion certificate.
During the Japanese Government internship period, interns will perform different activities which will include Digital transformation /New business development leveraging AI technology, Web design and production for overseas markets, Market research, marketing in the intern’s country, and Service development for overseas markets, etc. Students selected for the METI internship will be placed in companies across Japan. The Host companies for internships will be approved by the screening committee. This is an exceptional opportunity for students who wish to have international working experience in the fields of AI and IT.
