This fully funded scholarship program invites exceptional students from different regions of the world to contribute to research-related programs. During the Kochi University of Technology scholarship, students will get an education in a supportive environment. They will get a fee exemption for 3 years and will also receive an allowance for traveling and living expenses. The KUT scholarship program for doctoral students is a three-year research degree program. During each semester of the Japan research scholarship, students will submit their research plan and research report. First and second-year doctoral students will get an English research writing class. They will also get a Japanese language class for everyday communication. International students will get guidance from supervisors related to their academic and research work. Students will get a chance to attend different Japanese cultural activities and programs. Before completing the degree, students have to publish research papers in leading peer-reviewed journals, which will add value to their research experience.

Benefits of the KUT Special Scholarship Program in Japan
- Scholars will get an exemption from the 15,000 yen entrance examination fee, 300,000 yen enrollment fee, and 535,800 yen per year from the tuition fee for three years.
- Students will receive 150,000 yen per month for three years to cover the living expenses.
- International students will get 150,000 yen for travel and initial living costs.
- Students can get on-campus accommodation at KUT or dormitory accommodation at the Eikokuji campus.

- Each supervisor can enroll a maximum of 3 SSP students. The details of the supervisors available to host are mentioned on the official website.
- Applicants should have permission from their preferred supervisor to apply for this program.
- Applicants should have a master’s degree or equivalent degree acquired after 18 years of education.
- Applicants must be 35 years old or under this age while applying.
- Applicants should have an excellent academic record.
- Applicants should have sufficient knowledge and research skills.
- Applicants must have high English language proficiency.
How to apply for the KUT Special Scholarship Program in Japan
- Applicants have to fill out and submit the online pre-application request form.
- Application forms will be received by preferred supervisors who will decide if the applicant meets their requirements.
- Applicants can select a maximum of two supervisors from the SSP supervisor list.
- After reviewing the applications, preferred supervisors will contact successful applicants and give them permission to apply formally for the SSP program.
- Complete and submit the formal application form and all required documents to KUT through the post. (Do not send through email.)
